Flexible Stamping
For each feed length, the CNC chooses one or several selectors which insert a wedge between the ram and the stamping tools. Therefore, all stamping operations are programmed for each cycle.
With such a concept, we can manufacture some parts families including some repeated operations and some variations of dimensions without having to change tools.
At the end of the operations, a shearing tool separates the stamped piece. The CNC can store in its memory all feed lengths and tool selections for each par manufactured.
